State forces abuse
The country people are the victims
At the Putumayo’s river, the Southern Navy holds and interrogates illegally country people who will participate at the Patriotic march.

PRESS BULLETIN 04
Bogotá, July 19 of 2010

Different social organizations informed: “since past Saturday at Putumayo’s region has been occurring a situation of serious human right violation. The Southern Navy, ahead of General Colón, has done three dramatic military retains, requisitions and illegal interrogations which sabotage the arrival of more than 600 country people to the municipality, and who are approaching to the patriotic march”

The first retain occurred at Puerto Ospina village, the second at the Piñuña Negro inspection, and the last one, this morning at the Rosa village. Each one was about four to six hours, where every person was inspected and interrogated by army members, “which constitutes an irregular act, because they are not allowed to execute that kind of actions”, that’s what different human right organizations argued.

All the communities and organizations that have to sail through Putumayo’s river in their ways to the bicentenary commemoration, blame General Colón for any action that attempt against their physical and moral integrity, and claim before Colombia´s State the guarantee of their rights to life, freedom, physical integrity, freedom of movement and expression.
